Garden Room.
My clients bought a house with a very traditional conservatory. Tiled floor, far too hot in summer, freezing in winter. The conservatory sat between the kitchen living are and the garden - so you couldn’t avoid seeing it. My brief was to turn it into a garden room - a space for living in; lounging on Saturday mornings, doing homework after school, and somewhere that lifted the spirits of anyone glancing that way. It needed to be dog and mud proof, yet elegant and welcoming.

We started with this...
We agreed a colour / pattern/ texture scheme

Electric "honeycombed" blind warm up the space in winter and cool it down/reduce glare in summer. These are almost always in use. The huge 'natural flooring' rug is made of polypropylene and can be scrubbed, wiped, and if necessary taken outside and hosed down. The throw on the sofa can be chucked in the machine, and so can the rug by the door.

We installed uplighting all around the base of the roof so that at night the vaulted area glows and is warm. It's linked to Google Play so it goes on when you ask it to!
