What People Are Saying
I’m happy to give references on request. Below are a few comments from some of my Cambridge clients.
Naomi helped me prepare my aunt’s house for sale. The house (an end-of terrace in Newnham) was, in estate agents’ speak, “an opportunity to make it their own”: it had not been improved or renovated for decades. Naomi helped me decide whether or not it would be worth spending some money on redecorating and tidying up so that a family would happily move in, or whether to sell the property unimproved.
We decided to take the punt, spent under £15,000 which I suspect added around £130,000 to the eventual £1.1m price achieved. The house looked superb, the buyers were happy, and so were we.
Working with Naomi was an absolute delight at all times – quick, creative, frugal, and just a happy experience all round. I can’t recommend Naomi enough.

We engaged Naomi Rayner to design a new kitchen, utility, Dining and sofa/chilling area as part of our house extension. Naomi was very easy to deal with and had some ingenious ideas as to how we could best use the spaces. We wanted a beautiful kitchen that would be of lasting quality but unfortunately on a restricted budget. We also wanted the space to be supremely practical but to also a wonderful entertaining space. One of the benefits of Naomi is she knows where to trim the costs right back and where to spend to get the best bang for your buck. We are now installing a series of beautiful ‘rooms’ that we couldn’t be happier with. Highly recommended. A.C Cambridge, 2021
Naomi expertly managed my complete home renovation in Little Shelford with exceptional skill and professionalism. Her comprehensive service included design and planning, budget management, contractor coordination, timeline planning, materials and equipment sourcing and supplier negotiations—all handled with remarkable efficiency.
What impressed me most was Naomi's ability to maintain cost control and find creative solutions without compromising on the overall quality or plan. She is good at anticipating potential issues before they become bigger problems and consistently found neat solutions that saved both time and money.
Her project management skill what could have been an overwhelming renovation into a manageable and even a somewhat enjoyable process. For anyone seeking a project manager/director who combines commercial acumen with a reassuring presence, I cannot recommend Naomi highly enough. RG, Little Shelford 2024
Naomi helped me finally stop dithering and decide what to do in my kitchen without it being too dramatic a change nor too costly. Her suggestions were ones which I would never have thought of. My sink now looks out onto the patio garden and I can watch the birds feed while I wash up. I was able to reuse the furniture and fittings which I wanted to keep. I am now so happy with my ingeniously designed, practical, bright, spacious kitchen. Gorgeous! Everybody who comes into the house just says WOW!
Simple, helpful cost-efficient advice. Thank you, Naomi.

Naomi adds value, no question. She has made excellent suggestions on how to ensure areas of our home function better, look great, and flow properly. Her address book full of suppliers has undoubtedly saved us money and stress along the way.

What a stroke of luck to have found Naomi Rayner and her expertise to help and advise us and for her to seamlessly project manage two extensions (a delightful small sunroom and a cleverly squeezed in utility/bathroom downstairs) on our Edwardian house and then renovate the main bathroom, which is now rather stunning!
Naomi is a mine of information with planning, designing, ordering supplies and always thinking at least one step ahead, to co-ordinate the right contractors and craftsmen for the job and ensuring supplies are sourced and on-site in good time. She is the ultimate stress-free, calm and efficient ‘problem solver’. You cannot do house building, restructuring or renovating without unforeseen issues and glitches occurring, but she quickly contacts the relevant company or builder and says “there’ll be a good if not better way to work this out”, is straight on the case and things are smoothly sorted.
Naomi has excellent collaborations with local builders and suppliers, and this makes going to specialist outlets a joy instead of an overwhelming nightmare. She also sends lots of great information over by email or WhatsApp of ideas, products, colours and other options.
Most importantly, she has a wonderful sense of style and design, listens carefully to the client’s thoughts, wishes and budget and checks in constantly with both the homeowners and the work people on site. Her enthusiasm keeps you positive and confident of excellent results. Look no further if you have a project of any size to undertake and Naomi will hold your hands and guide you through from the initial thoughts to the gorgeous finished new parts of your home. We worked with Naomi when we moved into our new home and wanted lots of changes to turn it from a house into a functioning family home! Naomi’s relationships with her trusted suppliers and tradesmen ensured work was done on time and to high standards. Naomi gave us the confidence to make decisions, offering us ideas, suggesting colours and designs, and helping us really hone in on what we wanted. Her guidance, good judgement, creativity and experience has made all of the difference. She took on all of the bits that I would have found stressful and made the whole process much more enjoyable.
We now have a lovely home with a sitting room that we love, great bedrooms for our teenagers, beautiful storage and bookcases, and vastly improved lighting. We are thrilled with the outcome, which would never have been achieved without Naomi on board. NN, Hauxton 2024
“At the age of 78 I was moving into a semi-detached house of a kind you find all over Cambridge; late Victorian with the front doors in the middle and a bow window on either side. Naomi project managed the ‘future-proofing’ of my house from start to finish, making suggestions and helping with the planning phase. Structural work included removal of a two floor chimney breast, a ground floor extension, an additional bathroom upstairs, and moving the downstairs loo. Her advice on taking the plunge and installing underfloor heating was well worth it - I now spend 90% of my time in the newly reorganised part of my house which is always warm!. During the project the builder became seriously ill. Naomi took over the day to day management of everyone who was already working on site and oversaw the completion of the project”.
